Bohren Leads the Way: APU Shines in PacWest Awards

Cougars earn Coach of the Year honors and multiple All-PacWest selections after historic 20-win regular season.

SURPRISE, Ariz. — Following a historic regular season, Azusa Pacific women's tennis was well represented in the 2026 All-PacWest awards, highlighted by Mark Bohren being named Co-Coach of the Year.

Bohren, in his 29th season at the helm, guided the Cougars to a 20–2 record and a top seed entering the PacWest Championships. The honor marks another milestone in a decorated career that now stands at 472–192 overall, while also leading APU to its fifth consecutive 20-win season—a new program record.

Cougars Earn All-PacWest Honors

Azusa Pacific's dominance on the court translated to multiple individual recognitions.

Stina Larsson and Karola Suviste were both named First Team All-PacWest in singles, solidifying their status among the conference's elite. The duo also earned First Team All-PacWest doubles honors, continuing their impact as one of the top pairings in the region.

Additionally, Shannele Lopez earned Third Team All-PacWest singles honors, recognizing her contributions in the middle of the Cougars' lineup throughout the season.

Season of Excellence

Azusa Pacific enters postseason play on a 14-match winning streak, with its only Division II loss coming against Hawai'i Pacific. The Cougars' consistency, depth, and top-end talent have positioned them as one of the premier programs in the conference.
