GOLDEN, Colo. – Azusa Pacific men's soccer opened its 2025 campaign on the road but came up short against Colorado School of Mines, falling 2-0 Thursday night at Stermole Soccer Stadium.
The Cougars held the Orediggers scoreless through the first half, creating opportunities with five shots and three corners while limiting Mines to just three looks at goal. Coming out of halftime, Mines found the breakthrough in the 52nd minute finishing a cross from the top of the box for a 1-0 lead. The Orediggers doubled their advantage in the 81st minute, curling in a right-footed shot to the far post.
Osim Carranza provided a spark off the bench, tallying three shots, but none found the back of the net.
