AZUSA, Calif. — The Azusa Pacific men's and women's track and field programs were honored for their excellence in the classroom and on the field, earning All-Academic Team honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), while standout Hannah Richardson was named the 2025 NCAA Division II Women's Indoor Track & Field National Scholar Field Athlete of the Year.
The Cougar women's team posted a 3.63 cumulative GPA, while the men's team earned a 3.28 GPA, both surpassing well above the minimum 3.0 requirement to qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic Team distinction. The recognition reflects their ongoing commitment to academic excellence across all sports.
Richardson, a nursing major with a 3.90 GPA, adds another prestigious accolade to her decorated career after winning the shot put title at the 2025 NCAA Division II Indoor Championships. Her combination of elite athletic performance and academic distinction set her apart from hundreds of student-athletes across the nation.
In addition to the team awards, ten Cougars were named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Athletes list with Richardson, which honors individuals who have maintained a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 and met the NCAA Division II Championship standard in their event(s).

"We talk a lot about being excellent in all areas of life—faith, academics, athletics, and leadership," said Head Coach Jack Hoyt. "This group of student-athletes embodies that. To have both teams honored, multiple individuals recognized, and for Hannah to be named Scholar Field Athlete of the Year is a testament to the culture our staff and athletes have built."
