POMONA, Calif. - A group of sprinters achieved provisional marks at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational on Saturday.
Nicole Warwick,
Kiayra Holmes, and
Alayna Verner each hit the provisional standard in the 200. Warwick's career-best 23.95 landed her a second-place finish. Holmes ran 24.13 to hit the provisional mark and set a new personal record. Verner ran 24.40, a season-best in the event.Â
Nicole Warwick also hit the provisional standard in the 100m hurdles. She ran a career-best 13.55 to win the event and now sits at No. 2 in the nation.Â
In addition to individual success, the Cougars ran to provisional times in the relays. In the 4x100m,
Kiayra Holmes,
Trinity Miller,
Ashanti Perkins, and
Nevaeh Williams bettered their provisional mark with a time of 46.02. In the 4x400m,
Mercy Ehiemere,
Kiayra Holmes,
Maliyah Medley, and
Alayna Verner ran 3:43.12, which leaves them sitting within the top 10 of the national qualifying list.
