AZUSA, Calif. – Azusa Pacific won their match 4-1 against Grand Valley State on Monday afternoon to extend their winning streak to eight.
Although the Cougars dropped the doubles point, the team rallied to win the next four singles matches to secure the 4-1 victory.
Both duos of Miha Velicki / Elias Emilio Walter and Brody Bohren / Cole Rassner dropped their matches 3-6 at No. 1 and 2 doubles.
But the team bounced back with momentum as Walter took his match 6-1, 6-3 at No. 1 singles and Velicki won his 6-3, 6-3 at No. 2 singles. Walter remains undefeated this season with a 7-0 record in singles.
Soeren Grandke also won his match 6-4, 6-3 at No. 4 singles to extend his winning streak to seven. At No. 3 singles, Cole Rassner earned a win in the third set 6-2, 6-7 (5), 6-3 to clinch the victory for the Cougars.
