REDLANDS, Calif. - Azusa Pacific track & field competed at the Redlands Invitational on Friday. The women's 4x100 team highlighted the day with a provisional performance, and the Cougars achieved nine first place finishes and 14 career-bests.
WOMEN
Ashanti Perkins,
Trinity Miller,
Maliyah Medley, and
Nevaeh Williams ran to a provisional mark in the 4x100m. The team's 46.26 effort also earned them first place and a meet record.
In the 100m,
Maliyah Medley and
Nevaeh Williams went sub-12.00 for the first time in their careers, both posting a time of 11.99.
In the 4x400m,
Jordan Davenport,
Trinity Miller,
Maliyah Medley, and
Nevaeh Williams ran to a first place finish and a meet record in 4:02.51.
In the field, the Cougars had a trio of winning performances.
Nouhayla Errahili cleared 1.55m (5'1") in the high jump to earn first place for the Cougars. On her second attempt,
Olivia Baerny leaped 5.37m (17'7½") for victory in the long jump.
Allie Brooks threw 40.93m (134'3") in the javelin to outscore her competitors.
MEN
On the track, the men's 4x100m of
Shamar Anderson,
Christian Jervis,
Sid Varland, and
Tyler Howard finished in first with a time of 42.25.
In the 100m dash,
Shamar Anderson and
Tyler Howard both had career-bests. Anderson ran 10.96 to go sub-11.00 in the first time in his career, and Howard lowered his PR to 10.80.
The men also saw a trio of winning performances in the field.
Stefano Matteucci threw a career-best 42.89m (140'8") in the discus for first place.
Dejuan Walcott leaped to first in the long jump in 6.99m (22'11¼"), a career-best for Walcott. In the high jump,
Raymon Harper cleared 2.00m (6'6¾") for a top finish.
