LINCOLN, Neb. - Azusa Pacific continued its Indoor Season at the Praire Wolf Invitational hosted by Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln, Nebraska on Friday. Alysa Henry highlighted the day by earning three personal bests in her respective events. "Due to air travel delays, we ended up getting to our hotel at 6:30 AM today." said head coach Jack Hoyt. "I was really pleased with what I saw! Many athletes had life-time best performances and victories. I'm looking forward to a full sleep tonight and getting back at it tomorrow".
The Cougars opened competition in the 60 meter hurdles, where Nicole Warwick and Henry met the NCAA Division II Provisional Standard (8.85), while also earning personal-best times. Warwick won the event with a time of 8.61 and Henry finished with a time of 8.80. Luisa Fischer also earned a personal-best in this event with a time of 9.30.Â
Henry also earned a personal best in the pole vault and shot put. In the pole vault, she earned a 3.68m (12-00.75), which is an NCAA Division II provisional mark, and in the shot put she claimed a distance of 12.95m (42-06.00). Eliana Saunders also earned an NCAA Division II provisional mark with a personal best in the high jump at 1.70m (5'7").
In the 1000m, Kristilyn Hetherington turned in her first collegiate win with a finishing time of 3:03.45, and in the long jump, Esther Turnpin won the event with a distance of 5.39m (17-08.25).Â
Jermel Jones II, who already earned a NCAA Division II provisional distance in early December in Colorado, won the triple jump event with a finishing distance of 7.23m (23-08.75). Raymon Harper (who also has earned NCAA Division II provisional status in this event) earned a distance of 6.59m (21-7.50).Â
