Four Cougars Land College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Honors

Azusa Pacific men’s and women’s soccer each had two players earn CSC Academic All-District honors announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Gregoire Diep, Fritz Oestreicher, Mackenzie Coleman and Bethany Tee of Azusa Pacific men's and women's soccer all earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors for their efforts in the classroom and on the pitch this season. 

Diep maintained a cumulative 3.94 GPA while pursuing a Master's of Business Administration with a concentration in Organizational Science. Along with his performance in the classroom, he earned First Team All-PacWest recognition as well as D2CCA All-West Region recognition for the 2022 season. Diep played every minute of every game for the Cougars, totaling nine goals which ranked fifth in the conference, while collecting two assists. In a victory over Hawaii Pacific, he recorded the first hat trick of his career, scoring the first three goals of the game for the Cougars and also had three game-winning goals (3rd in PacWest). After finishing his career on the field with the Cougars a few weeks ago, Diep will be graduating this December. 

Oestreicher was recognized on the CSC Academic All-District team, with this being his first honor. He had a cumulative 3.71 GPA while studying Business Management. Along with his performance in the classroom, he earned Second Team All-PacWest honors in the 2022 season for his contributions on the pitch for Azusa Pacific. At center back, Oestreicher contributed to three clean sheets for the Cougars while playing in 17 games and starting 14. Along with his strong defensive presence, he added to the Cougars offense, scoring two goals with five shots on goal. 

After being named a D2CCA Second Team All-West Region and First Team All-PacWest performer, Coleman earned CSC Academic All-District recognition for her efforts in the classroom. She posted a 3.79 GPA while studying Allied Health throughout the 2022 season and has plans to graduate in May of 2023. Along with her performance in the classroom, the senior center back helped Azusa Pacific to 10 clean sheets on the season with 13 games where there were one or fewer goals scored against them. Offensively, she also collected one goal with two assists on the year. 

After her performance both academically and on the pitch throughout the 2022 season, Tee was recognized as a CSC Academic All-District honoree. While studying Economics, she posted a 3.78 GPA, while also being named a Second Team All-PacWest selection at forward. She had a team-high seven goals which ranked 6th in the PacWest while also collecting two assists. She also had a conference-leading five game-winning goals on the season, including a brace in a 2-0 victory over Hawaii Pacific.
