HAYWARD, Calif. — After 42 days without competition, Azusa Pacific women's swimming & diving was back in action today in a dual meet versus Cal State East Bay. The Cougars trip was highlighted by freshman
Montana White and her three event victories.Â
How it Happened: To start the day, the Cougars placed second in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:53.22. The team consisted of
Marci Yanagawa,
Amanda Anderson,
Tessie Scavone, and
Hannah Swailes.Â
Delanie Gearing placed second in the 1000 Free which was the second event of the day with a time of 11:03.61, before she placed second once again later on in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 37.69.Â
White then won the first event of the meet for the Cougars in the 200 Free with a time of 29.40 before also taking the 100 Free and 500 Free which included more than two second win in the 100 Free.Â
Yanagawa impressed with a second place finish in the 200 Backstroke and a third place finish in the 100 Backstroke.
The Cougars finished the event with a second place finish in the 400 Free relay with a time of 3:39.64 behind a team of
Riley Smith, White, Gearing, and
Emily Rigsby.
Up Next: Azusa Pacific will travel back to Malibu, Calif. in two weeks time to face Pepperdine in a dual meet on January 29th. The meet is set to begin at 10:00 a.m.
