Biography
2022-23: Scored points for Azusa Pacific in nine meets this season… At the PCSC Championships, she secured 40 points for the Cougars, scoring 23 points in the 200 Breast finals, 13 points in the 100 Breast finals and four points in the 1000 Free finals… These points contributed to the Cougars earning a second place team finish, which is the highest finish in program history.
2021-22: Competed in 11 meets for the Cougars this season… Earned 59 points at the PCSC Championships, securing 27 points with a 3rd place finish in the 200 Breast finals, 17 points in the 100 Breast finals and 15 points in the 1000 Free finals… These points contributed to the Cougars earning a third place team finish, which ties for the highest finish in program history.
2020-21: Earned points for the team in four events at the PCSC Championships, competing in both breaststroke and freestyle events...Finished fourth in the 200 breaststroke and sixth in the 100...Also helped the team to a third-place finish in the 800 free relay and a fourth place in the 400 free relay...Recorded a season-best time of 2:12.65 in the 200 individual medley at conference championships...PCSC All-Academic First Team honoree.
2019-20 (Freshman): Finished fourth in the 200 Y Breast (2:22.31) at the PCSC Championships... Posted a second-place finish in the same event at the Pepperdine Winter Invitational with a time of 2:24.89... Swam career-best times in the 25 Y Free (12.42 @ PCSC Pentathlon), 500 Y Free (5:11.78 @ PCSC Championships), 1000 Y Free (11:08.86 vs. Biola), 50 Y Back (33.16 @ Soka/O.C. Invitational), 100 Y Back (1:08.74 @ Soka/O.C. Invitational), 50 Y Breast (31.31 @ PCSC Championships), 200 Y Breast (2:22.31 @ PCSC Championships).
HIGH SCHOOL: Competed for all four years on the swim team at Northgate HS in Walnut Creek... competed in breaststroke, distance events, and IM, reaching North Coast Section finals in both junior and senior seasons... played three years of water polo as well.
PERSONAL:
Parents are Dave and Diana Gearing... has one sister, Danielle... recipient of Girl Scout Bronze, Silver, and Gold awards and a Presidential Volunteer Award... is majoring in Kinesiology and Honors Humanities... wants to become a pediatric physical therapist after graduation... enjoys swimming, going to the beach, and spending time with her friends.
