Azusa, Calif.-- The No. 15 APU women's tennis team got stuck with its second 4-3 loss of the season as the Cougars were upended by visiting #37 UC San Diego at the Munson and Bavougian Tennis Courts. APU snagged the doubles point before UCSD fought back to string up a trio of three-set victories and eventually clinched the match at the No. 6 spot to seal the win. The cougars are now 10-7 on the season.

The Cougars got off to a strong start in doubles play as the tandem of Jacky Wagner and Kara Hinton edged out their opponents at the top spot 6-3 before Audrey Stewart and Petra Ivankovic clinched the doubles point shortly after with a 6-2 victory at the No. 6 position.

With a 1-0 lead, the Cougars held the same momentum as they headed into singles play. At the No. 5 spot, April Wong pulled out a 6-4, 6-0 win before Petra Ivankovic locked up a 6-2, 7-5 victory at the No. 1 position. With a 3-0 lead, UCSD bounced back with a 6-2, 6-3 win over APU's Jacky Wagner to seal its first point of the afternoon.
