Back To Back Clincher From Pluim

Azusa, Calif.-- After clinching a 4-3 victory on Friday over UCSD, senior Marnix Pluim struck again to secure the perfect 4-0 victory Saturday afternoon against Point Loma on senior day at the Munson and Bavougain Tennis Courts. After wrapping up its final regular season match, the #15 Cougars improve 21-2 on the season to head into the PacWest Tournament next week.

Heading into doubles play, the tandem of Ethan Smith and Ronald Kang hammered out a 6-2 victory at the No. 3 position. As the other two courts were both close to finishing, Jakob Schnaitter and Jesse Haas scooped up a 6-2 victory first at the top spot to claim the doubles point for the Cougars.

In singles, senior Ronald Kang held the same momentum and sprinted his way to a 6-2, 6-3 victory at the No. 3 slot. Ryan Nuno was next to add another point for APU winning 6-2, 6-3 at the No. 2 position.

With the Cougars leading 3-0, Marnix Pluim continued to serve up that same heat at court three and scooped up his second clincher on the weekend with a 6-3, 6-3 victory at court four.
