AZUSA, Calif. – The Cougars made things look simple on Wednesday.
Azusa Pacific didn't drop a set in posting a 9-0 victory against Holy Names. The ninth-ranked Cougars are 7-2 overall with this match starting a four-match home stretch.
DOUBLES: Azusa Pacific took the first two matches without dropping a game. Diana Baumgartnere and Petra Ivankovic posted their fifth win together at the No. 1 spot while Kara Hinton and Toby Miclat notched their seventh victory as tandem in the second slot.
Courtney Page and Mikayla Rinker showed their ability together by posting an 8-2 win in the third position. They also have seven wins when playing together.
SINGLES: The Cougars were just as dominate in their solo efforts. Of the 12 sets played, the home team posted a bagel victory in four of them.
Miclat went 6-4, 6-0 in winning at the No. 1 position in posting the win for the first match of the courts. The senior is now 7-1 in a Cougar uniform. Baumgartnere notched a bagel and a breadstick win at the No. 3 match to clinch the team match.
Azusa Pacific continued to roll as Hinton dropped just two games in each set for her win at the No. 4 spot. Ivankovic moved to 6-2 this season with playing at the No. 2 slot with a 6-3, 6-0 victory.
April Wong (6-0, 6-1) and Courtney Page (6-4, 6-1) closed out the impressive win at the fifth and sixth spots respectively.
