Azusa Pacific notched a 8-1 win over No. 23 Concordia increasing their streak and improving their overall record 16-3.

The Cougars swept doubles starting with a win 8-4 from No. 2
Pascal Engel and
Christian Schmid. Followed by No. 1 doubles retiring a 8-4 win over the Eagles. Completing the doubles sweep was
Shepherd Newcomb and
Marnix Pluim winning 9-8 (7-4).
Schmid registered the first Cougars successful singles match winning 6-1, 6-2 at the No. 2 position. Frank clinched the match at the No. 1 position with a 6-2, 6-2 win over his opponent. The only match the Cougars dropped was at the No. 3 slot where Engel fell 6-3, 6-4. Pluim won in a super tiebreaker 4-6, 6-2, (10-8) to down his opponent at the No. 4 spot. Pejic won 6-2, 6-1 at the No. 6 spot as teammate Newcomb wrapped up the Cougars win by beating his opponent 6-3, 6-1 in the No. 5 position. Â
The Cougars play again Saturday at 10:00 a.m. against Pomona-Pitzer. Â
