Christian Schmid notched the Cougars first doubles victory 8-4 at the No. 2 spot as the Vulcans came out on top in the No. 1 slot beating
Oliver Frank and
Antonio Pejic 8-6. Tied up as No. 3 was coming to and end, the paring of
Shepherd Newcomb and
Marnix Pluim stayed ahead throughout the match ultimately capturing a 8-6 win and increasing the Cougars lead to 2-1 going into singles.
Pluim was victorious recording the Cougars first singles win 6-0, 6-1 at the No. 4 slot.
Oliver Frank defeated No. 29 Vaclav Slezak in two sets winning 6-2, 6-3 at the No. 1 spot.
Christian Schmid secured the Cougars victory over the Vulcans with a 6-2, 6-2 victory at in the No. 2 slot. Pejic notched a 6-0, 6-4 win at the No. 6 position as teammate Newcomb fell 6-1, 6-3 at the No. 5 spot. It came down to a super tie breaker at the No. 3 position seeing Engel come short 3-6, 7-6, 10-4.
The Cougars return to the court tomorrow facing Arizona Christian at 1:30 p.m.
