IRVINE, Calif. – Azusa Pacific's women's tennis team started off the season with a 7-2 win over nationally ranked No. 31 Concordia. Only dropping two matches on the day, one in singles and one in doubles.
In doubles,
Natalie Johnson and
Valeriia Kashina posted an 8-2 victory in the No. 1 slot. TeammatesÂ
Jackie Resler and
Lilit Vardanyan recorded an 8-0 win in the No. 3 slot.
Results
The Eagles pairing of Johanna Keeline and Samantha Schuster posted a win in doubles at the second position.
Johnson, with her second win of the day, walked away a 6-2, 6-2 winner in the No. 1 slot. Shneider, in the No. 2 slot won 6-2, 6-2 joined by teammates Hinton (6-4, 6-4), Resler (6-3, 6-3) and
Tatiana Betancourt (6-1, 6-0) whose wins finished off the Cougars successful day.
Concordia's Keeline got her second win over a Cougar in the third position.Â
The Cougars return to the court February 10th matching up against Point Loma and UC San Diego on the road.
