Cougars Roll Past Holy Names

Box Score OAKLAND, Calif. - A well balanced hitting attack combined with a season best serving effort aided in Azusa Pacific's 3-0 (25-20, 25-18, 25-16) victory over Holy Names on Friday evening. 

The Cougars (6-6, 3-1 PacWest) trailed for only brief periods as they pulled away in each set in upping their all-time record to 13-0 against against the Hawks.

Crystal Dedes lead an offensive effort that saw five players record at least four kills each. Dedes had 10 kills on 15 swings en route to a .467 hitting percentage. Kami Zoller had a career best seven kills with a .500 hitting percentage. Joy Reinke hit .429 with six kills. Alicia Utke (5 kills) and Mattie Shelford (4) also aided in the front line efforts.

As a team the Cougars put together 33 kills and a .220 hitting percentage. 

Azusa Pacific set their season high with 11 services aces. Jaden Louie led the way at the service line with three. 

Louie and Tristan Racich continued to split time at the setter position in the 6-2 offense as they recorded 19 and nine sets respectively. 

The back lines were held down by Utke's team best 10 digs. Reinke and Louie each had six digs in the winning cause. 

Tomorrow evening the Cougars look to complete a three-match sweep through the Bay Area when they travel to Dominican for a 7 p.m. match. A win would push Azusa Pacific over the .500 mark for the first time this season.
