AZUSA, Calif.-- In its final match of the regular season the No. 13 ranked Azusa Pacific women's tennis team recorded a 7-2 win over No. 17 UC San Diego Saturday afternoon. The Cougars, who will compete in the Pacific West Conference tennis tournament next week riding a six-match winning streak, lost only five sets all day, with Kim Koetterheinrich registering her eighth straight victory.

Koetterheinrich defeated Lisa Asai 6-2, 6-1 in the final home match of her career, while fellow senior Emily Harris picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win against Kyra Scott at No. 1. Natalie Johnson improved her record to 18-4 on the year with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Paula Chou at No. 2, and Danae Ingwaldson tabbed a 6-2, 6-3 victory against Nava Nowamooz at No. 3.
Lindsey Yeom grabbed her ninth win of the season with a three-set (6-2, 6-7, 10-8) win to end the day at No. 5, and is one win away from becoming the sixth Azusa Pacific player this year to post double-figure wins. Stephanie Quan fell to Tara Vanooteghem 6-4, 6-2 in the Tritons' lone singles win of the day.Â
The duo of Harris and Ingwaldson kept its record perfect on the season, improving to 6-0 with an 8-4 defeat of Scott and Chou at No. 1 to open the day. Yeom and Ingwaldson recorded the Cougars' other doubles win, defeating Nowamooz and Shannon Theisen 8-2. Koetterheinrich and Quan fell to Laura Wilke and Vanooteghem in a tiebreaker, (7-3) in a 9-8 loss.Â
