LOS ANGELES, Calif.-- Kim Koetterheinirch's fifth consecutive singles victory clinched the No. 13 ranked Azusa Pacific women's tennis team's 7-2 win over No. 20 Cal State Los Angeles Monday afternoon. The senior, who tabbed her ninth win of the year, recorded a three-set defeat of Samantha Sismundo at No. 6 after the Cougars took two of three in doubles play, sealing Azusa Pacific's seventh win in the last eight matches.

Koetterheinrich's three-set win (3-6, 6-3, 6-3) was one of three matches that went further than two sets, with the Cougars winning each of those contests. Emily Harris registered a 7-5, 4-6, 7-6 defeat of Leora Hemmerich at No. 1, while Stephanie Quan grabbed her 11th win of the year (tied for second most on the team) with a 6-2, 6-7, 6-2 victory against Victoria Vo at No. 5.
Natalie Johnson picked up her team-leading 15th win after beating Sonia Landeros 7-5, 6-2 at No. 2, and Danae Ingwaldson defeated Sydney Postal 7-5, 6-3 at No. 3. Lindsey Yeom fell to Tiffany Leung 6-3, 6-3 in the No. 4 spot.Â
In doubles Johnson and Harris rattled off their third consecutive win as a team with an 8-4 victory against Hemmerich and Postal at No. 1, and the duo of Quan and Koeeterheinrich beat Landeros and Leung 8-4. Cal State L.A. notched its lone doubles win with a narrow 9-7 defeat of Ingwaldson and Yeom at No. 2.Â
The Cougars will return home with a match against Point Loma on Friday, before closing the regular season with home tilts against Cal State L.A. and UC San Diego next week.
