AZUSA, Calif.-- Whatever rust the Azusa Pacific women's tennis team accumulated over its nine-day break quickly vanished as the Cougars rattled off three doubles wins before claiming  all six singles matches to come away with a 9-0 sweep of Babson on Wednesday afternoon. Azusa Pacific didn't drop a set all day, and Brejohn McCrary gave up only one game in her first singles match at No. 1 this year, beating Alex Freeman 6-1, 6-0.

At No. 2 singles Samantha Kaneta handled Sarah Whitaker in a 6-2, 6-2 match, while Lindsey Yeom registered a 6-4, 6-2 defeat of Alexis Ferraro. Kim Koetterheinrich collected the Cougars' second singles win at No. 4 with a 6-0, 6-1 victory, before Stephanie Quan made quick work of Victoria Lorido at No. 5. Bethany Duval wrapped things up at no. 6, registering her seventh consecutive win.

In doubles Emily Harris and Danae Ingwaldson sprinted to a half-hour win at No. 1, sweeping Sarah Whitaker and Alex Freeman 8-0 to notch the Cougars' first point. Soon after McCrary and Quan tabbed an 8-1 win over Alexis Ferraro and Tori Paolino, before Koetterheinrich and Yeom recorded an 8-1 defeat of Minte Tamashunas and Victoria Lorido. 

The Cougars will have the weekend off before welcoming Fresno Pacific for a 1:30 p.m. match on Monday.
