IRVINE, Calif. -- The NAIA's No. 3-Azusa Pacific dropped its second Golden State Athletic Conference loss of the season in a 6-3 decision to No. 7-ranked Concordia Saturday afternoon. Freshman Natalie McNall was the lone Cougar to register wins in singles and doubles.
At No. 3 doubles, the freshmen tandem of Emily Ignas and McNall took a 8-2 win over Concordia's Johanna Sceresini and Jaleh Mazaheri. Concordia won the other 2 doubles matches.
McNall followed her doubles win with a 6-4, 6-2 victory at No. 4 singles, her third consecutive singles win over a conference opponent.
Freshman Leah Hoffee continues an great run of singles dominance with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Mazaheri at No. 6 singles. Hoffee has now collected 36 of her last 37 games, following a pair of 6-0, 6-0 wins at Hope International and Biola.
The Eagles took the other 4 singles matches in straight set decisions.
With the loss, Azusa Pacific drops to 7-3, 7-2 in GSAC, while Concordia improves to 7-3, 5-2 in GSAC.
