Overwhelming Victory

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- For the seventh time in its past eight matches, the NAIA's No. 4-ranked Azusa Pacific did not drop a match as it swept No. 18-ranked Westmont, 9-0.

The Cougars are rounding into postseason form as they climbed to within a game and a half of Vanguard for second place in the GSAC standings.

All singles players were straight set winners after the 3 doubles teams each earned points giving Azusa Pacific a large early lead that was never threatened.

Freshmen Raquel Gottfried and Katy Jelsma have been terrific during their initial campaigns and both were straight set winners.

Next for Azusa Pacific is the same Warrior squad in a make-up of an earlier rained out match. The teams will meet on Tuesday, April 18, in Azusa.
