AZUSA, Calif. -- The NAIA's No. 5-ranked Azusa Pacific had little trouble in beating Biola, 9-0, on a warm afternoon Thursday.
The Cougars got out of the gate quickly in doubles play as a juggled ladder led to familiar results. For the first time this season, Bay Daniels teamed with Katy Jelsma at No. 1 doubles and the duo earned a hard fought, 8-6, win.
Each of the other doubles teams followed suit as Peggy Bell and Raquel Gottfried looked dominant in an 8-1 win. Jennifer Dao and Lindsey Cloninger also swiftly took care of their business on the court with an 8-0 performance.
The momentum carried over to singles play where all 6 Cougars played quality tennis as they each posted straight set wins.
The win improves the Cougars' record to 10-3 overall and 8-3 in the GSAC. Their win streak improves to 2 matches. Azusa Pacific will play host to California Baptist on Friday at 1:30 p.m.
