AZUSA, Calif. -- Azusa Pacific, ranked No. 7 in the NAIA, got off to its best start in program history with an 8-1 win over No. 15 Westmont.
The win moves the Cougars to 10-0 on the season, 3-0 GSAC. Westmont drops to 2-7, 1-3.
"It was exciting to watch the girls play at the level they played at today," said Azusa Pacific head coach Mark Bohren. "It was great tennis this afternoon with great fan support."
Both Lynn Quitoriano (No. 5) and Christiana Scolinos (No. 6), who transferred to Azusa Pacific from Westmont, picked up wins against their former team.
