AZUSA, Calif. -- Point Loma Nazarene, ranked No. 3 in the NAIA, moved to within one win of its third straight GSAC championship with a 9-0 win over No. 17 Azusa Pacific.
The Crusaders, who haven't dropped a GSAC match since the 2000 season, cruised today without dropping a set along the way. Brianne Hahn and Mayu Sato came within inches of taking No. 2 doubles before falling 9-7. Andrea Yorkey also nearly pulled off a win at No. 5 singles but fell, 7-6, 6-4.
With the loss, Azusa Pacific drops to 10-9 overall, 5-5 in the GSAC. Point Loma improves to 14-3, 8-0.
