Westmont 8
Azusa Pacific 1
Freshman Christina Earnest picked up Azusa Pacific's lone point, winning at No. 1 singles, as the NAIA's No. 19-ranked Cougars lost to No. 14 Westmont, 8-1, in a GSAC match in Santa Barbara.
The Cougars had their chances to earn additional points, especially in the doubles' matches where Nos. 1 and 2 both finished 8-6.
"Westmont is a really strong team," said Azusa Pacific head coach Mark Bohren. "We fought hard in the doubles but came up just short in all three."
With the loss, Azusa Pacific drops to 2-2 overall, 1-1 GSAC.
