Late Surge Lifts Cougars

LA MIRADA, CALIF. – Sophomore Stephanie Lemburg (Frazier Park, Calif./Frazier Mountain HS) scored her first goal of the season in the 67th minute lifting the NAIA's No. 2-ranked Azusa Pacific to a 2-0 GSAC win at Biola.
 
Senior Kimber Carter (Upland, Calif./Upland HS) assisted on Lemburg's goal. It was her fourth assist of the season.
 
The win is the Cougars' sixth straight win and now sets the stage for Friday's showdown with No. 6-ranked Westmont.
 
Freshman Stephanie Bays (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif./Etiwanda HS) scored her fourth goal of the season in the 84th minute to ice the game.
 
The Cougars outshot the Eagles, 20-2, and sophomore GK Melissa Strother (Covina, Calif./South Hills HS) snatched 4 saves to pick up her fourth shutout of the season.
 
With the win, the Cougars improve to 6-1 overall, 3-0 GSAC.
