Biography
THIS YEAR: Senior forward Kimber Carter returns to the Cougar frontline looking to regain the health, strength and form that made her perhaps the top freshman in the GSAC 3 years ago … Teams with Sanford to form one of the best offensive fronts in the GSAC ... Has good speed and knowledge of the game … Will push for postseason honors … Will be looked upon as a leader as one of only 2 seniors.
2000: Played much of the season as a defender, helping hold opponents to 16 goals in 25 games . . . Started 24 of 25 games . . . Scored 4 goals and 5 assists . . . Averaged a point a game during an 8-game stretch in which Azusa Pacific went 7-0-1 and outscored opponents 39-3 . . . Tallied 2 assists in the postseason . . . Scored the game's first goal to spark the Cougars to a 4-0 GSAC victory over Cal Baptist.
1999: Hampered much of the season by nagging injuries, including a dislocated toe, and yet missed just 1 game (vs. Point Loma Nazarene) ... Started 18 of the 21 games she played ... Scored 3 goals, all in the first 8 games of the season, including the game-tying goal in the 72nd minute of a 1-1 tie vs. eventual NCAA Division III champ UC San Diego ... Started all 5 postseason games, tallying 1 assist in a 2-1 victory over Lindenwood at the NAIA Tourney.
1998: Appeared in 25 games, starting 18 (last 11 in a row) ... Became only the second freshman in Azusa Pacific history to eclipse the 40-point barrier, tallying 40 points on 17 goals and 6 assists ... Had 4 multiple-goal games ... Scored 2 goals vs. USIU in the NAIA Far West Regional championship game ... Scored in the NAIA title game vs. Simon Fraser, giving the Cougars a 2-0 lead (Azusa Pacific won 2-1).
HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped 3 seasons on the varsity level at Upland (Calif.) High ... As a 1998 senior earned All-Baseline League second team recognition.
