AZUSA, Calif. — No. 23 Azusa Pacific women's tennis delivered a strong statement performance Thursday afternoon, defeating Biola
6–1 at the Munson & Bayougian Tennis Complex to improve to
18–2 on the season.
Biola grabbed early momentum by claiming the doubles point, winning at Nos. 2 and 3. Azusa Pacific's top duo of
Stina Larsson and Karola Suviste earned a 6–4 win at No. 1, but the Eagles held the early 1–0 advantage.
The Cougars quickly flipped the match in singles—and never looked back.

Stina Larsson set the tone at the top of the lineup with a commanding
6–4, 6–2 victory at No. 1 singles, leveling the match.
Vini Bautista followed with a composed
6–4, 6–4 win at No. 2, and
Karola Suviste added another straight-set victory at No. 3 (6–2, 6–4) to give APU full control.
Azusa Pacific continued to dominate in the middle and lower courts.
Shannele Lopez battled through a three-set match at No. 4, winning
6–1, 1–6, 6–4, while
Melis Mert added another three-set victory at No. 5.
The final point came from
Kimberly Tran at No. 6, who closed out a tough three-set battle to complete the 6–1 victory.
