AZUSA, Calif. — Azusa Pacific men's tennis earned a key 5–2 victory over Hawai'i Pacific on Tuesday afternoon at the Munson & Bayougian Tennis Complex, improving to
12–4 on the season.
The Cougars set the tone early by claiming the doubles point. The tandem of
Soeren Grandke and Mathys Pinoit led the way with a 6–3 win at No. 1 doubles, while
Joan Crespo and Christopher Marci followed with a 6–4 victory at No. 3 to secure the early advantage. The match at No. 2 went unfinished.
Azusa Pacific carried that momentum into singles play, where the Cougars controlled the top of the lineup.

Soeren Grandke delivered a strong performance at No. 1 singles, winning 6–2, 6–4 to extend APU's lead.
Mathys Pinoit followed with a composed 7–5, 6–4 victory at No. 2, putting the Cougars within one point of clinching.
The decisive point came at No. 4 singles, where
Joan Crespo battled through three sets to earn a 6–4, 4–6, 6–1 victory and secure the match for Azusa Pacific.
Jacob Rudd-Hicks added another straight-set win at No. 6 to round out the Cougars' scoring.
Hawai'i Pacific picked up points at Nos. 3 and 5 singles, including a tightly contested three-set match at No. 3, but Azusa Pacific's strength at the top of the lineup proved decisive.
