Cougars post back-to-back 7–0 victories at home as Brownlee dazzles with 39-minute singles win.

AZUSA, Calif. — No. 12 Azusa Pacific delivered a dominant day at the Munson & Bavougian Tennis Complex, sweeping Whittier College and Stanton University in a Saturday doubleheader with identical 7–0 victories.

Match 1: No. 12 APU 7, Whittier 0

The Cougars (7–4) opened the day in commanding fashion, sweeping all three doubles courts against Whittier. Joan Crespo and Christopher Marci set the tone with a 6–1 win at No. 1 doubles, while Soeren Grandke and Michael Marci and Sam Bergstrand and Leo Weishaupt matched that dominance to secure the early point.

Singles play followed the same script. Crespo blanked his opponent 6–0, 6–0 at No. 1, and Viktor Van Craenenbroeck, Ben Behrend, and Christopher Marci each won in straight sets. Jacob Rudd-Hicks and Andrew Lee-Bliss closed out tight matches to complete the shutout.

Match 2: No. 12 APU 7, Stanton 0

In the afternoon session, Azusa Pacific repeated the feat, again sweeping doubles to take control early. The No. 1 tandem of Soeren Grandke and Mathys Pinoit led the charge, while David James Brownlee and Viktor Van Craenenbroeck and Christopher Marci and Sam Bergstrand secured wins at Nos. 2 and 3.

The Cougars carried that momentum into singles. Mathys Pinoit earned a three-set victory at No. 1, and Ben Behrend rallied for a comeback win at No. 3. Leo Weishaupt, Jacob Rudd-Hicks, and Christopher Marci each added straight-set victories.

The fastest statement of the day came from David James Brownlee, who needed just 39 minutes to secure a dominant 6–0, 6–0 win at No. 2 singles, overwhelming his opponent and setting the tone for the sweep.
