IRVINE, Calif. – Azusa Pacific swept on Day 2 of the Concordia Kickoff Classic with a 2-1 victory over Cal Poly Humboldt and a 10-3 defeat over Fort Lewis on Saturday at Great Park Stadium.Â
Game One: Cal Poly Humboldt 1, Azusa Pacific 2
The Cougars and Lumberjacks were locked in a scoreless duel through three innings before Azusa Pacific delivered the game's decisive swing in the top of the fourth.
With back-to-back singles from Hailey Burns and Julia Doan setting the table, Bella Fraser ripped a two-run double into left-center to bring both runners home and give APU a 2–0 lead.
Cal Poly Humboldt answered in the bottom of the fifth when a Lumberjack opened the inning with a single, stole second, then moved to third on a throwing error. CPH followed with an RBI single to center to cut the deficit to 2–1, but Azusa Pacific's pitching staff kept the Lumberjacks from pulling even the rest of the way.
Ava Hernandez worked 3.1 scoreless innings to start before Analise Reyes took over in relief and closed the door, allowing one run while striking out three across 3.2 innings to earn the win. Humboldt's pitcher went the distance in the circle.

Game Two: Fort Lewis 3, Azusa Pacific 10
The Cougars set the tone immediately, erupting for five runs in the bottom of the first to grab early control. After three straight walks loaded the bases, Sydney Juarez delivered a two-run single to center, and Hannah Tipton followed with a two-run double to left that turned the inning into a 5–0 advantage.
Fort Lewis fought back in the top of the fourth, stringing together three consecutive singles and using productive outs to plate three runs and cut the deficit to 5–3. But Azusa Pacific answered right away in the bottom half. Bella Fraser and Juarez each drove in a run with doubles, and Tipton added a sacrifice fly after a wild pitch moved the runner to third, pushing the lead back to 8–3.
Azusa Pacific tacked on two more in the fifth, using a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch and an RBI single to make it 10–3. The Cougars' bullpen handled the rest, keeping Fort Lewis off the scoreboard over the final three innings to close out the win.
Allie Reese worked 3.2 innings in the circle to start, and Maddy Debs took over in relief and finished the final 3.1 innings without allowing a run to earn the save.
