Box Score SAN DIEGO, Calif – APU travelled down to Point Loma on Saturday for what proved to be a tightly contested affair, however the Cougars were unable to overcome the Sea Lions, ultimately losing 90-82 at Golden Gymnasium.

Shant Chenorhavorian and DM Sanders each dropped double digit performances in points with 19 and 17 respectively. Sanders shot an astounding 71% (5-7) from behind the three point arc.
Despite trailing for a combined 14 minutes of the first half, Azusa Pacific was able to keep things close, even finding themselves ahead on 5 different occasions. The largest deficit APU would face in this half would be just 5 points, and would go into the half down only 3.
Point Loma began the second half explosively, and the Cougars' 3 point deficit quickly grew to 10 points. APU would respond shortly after, tying the game after going on a 12-2 run over a 2 minute span. The second half would continue much like this, and with 1:55 remaining, two free throws from Chenorhavorian saw the Cougars trailing by just 2. However, Azusa Pacific's effort was not enough as PLNU found a layup and went a perfect 6-6 from the free throw line to finish the game off.
