SAN DIEGO, Calif. — The Pacific West Conference announced its 2025-26 postseason honors today, with Azusa Pacific standout Shad Thomas earning a spot on the All-PacWest Third Team. The senior forward from Union Island, St. Vincent, was recognized by the league's 13 head coaches following a season in which he established himself as the premier rebounder in the conference.
A Statistical Anomaly
While Point Loma's Andrew Nagy took home Player of the Year honors, Thomas put up numbers that stood alone in the PacWest record books this season. Thomas finished the year as the only player in the conference to average a double-double
. He recorded 15.0 points and a league-best 10.0 rebounds per game
.
His dominance on the glass was a season-long narrative. Thomas led the PacWest in total rebounds with 271 and defensive rebounds with 177 , making him the only athlete in the conference to average double-digit boards. His efficiency was highlighted by a conference-high 14 double-doubles, a mark that doubled the total of the next closest players, Kent King and Tyus Parrish-Tillman.
Season Highlights
Thomas' selection to the Third Team follows several high-water marks throughout the 2025-26 campaign:
- The 20/20 Club: Thomas delivered a legendary performance against Hawaii Pacific on February 2, 2026, exploding for 22 points and 22 rebounds.
- Consistent Scoring: Beyond his rebounding, Thomas ranked 13th in the conference in scoring at 14.96 points per game.
- Elite Glass Cleaning: He secured 19 rebounds in a single game on two separate occasions—once at Vanguard on January 22 and again at Jessup on February 7.
Thomas is joined on the Third Team by Isaac Peralta (Fresno Pacific), Julio Montes II (Hawaii Hilo), Kent King (Chaminade), Tyce Paulsen (Point Loma), Tyus Parrish-Tillman (Biola), and Andrew Hommes (Point Loma).
