AZUSA, Calif.–Azusa Pacific women's soccer closed out nonconference play with a 0-0 draw against UC Merced on Wednesday evening.
The Cougars created plenty of chances, outshooting the Bobcats 14-10, but neither side could capitalize. Abbie Campos led APU's attack with 3 shots- 2 of them on goal, while outside back Alexis Fuller also recorded 2 shots on goal. Megan Salvesvold and Aubrey Dunaway each tested UC Merced's keeper once.
Defensively, the Cougars were organized and disciplined, allowing only three shots to get through to goalkeeper Alexia Muniz. Center backs Sophia Emerson and Jada Preston have led the Cougars' backline to its 5th straight shutout.Â
