LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Azusa Pacific women's soccer battled to a scoreless draw against Cal State Los Angeles on Saturday night, extending its unbeaten stretch and tallying its fourth straight shutout.
The Cougars dictated much of the first half, controlling 61% of the possession. APU generated six shot attempts before the break, including two on frame, but none forced a difficult save from the Golden Eagles' goalkeeper. The Cougars backline stayed tight defensively, only allowing two shots from Cal State LA in the half.
The numbers through the second half remained identical to the first. The Cougars allowed almost nothing from the Golden Eagles, again only conceding two shots, while creating six chances, but none could make it past Cal State LA. Goalkeeper Alexia Muniz only had to deny two opportunities in the match, anchoring a defense that has now gone over 360 minutes without conceding a goal.
