AZUSA, Calif. – The Cougars were selected fourth in the 2025 PacWest Women's Soccer Preseason Coaches Poll while transfer Abbie Campos was named to the preseason watch list.
Azusa Pacific's lone representative on the PacWest Preseason Players to Watch List is newcomer Campos, a transfer from Long Beach City College. Campos was an All-South Coast Conference South Division First Team honoree as a standout defender.
The Cougars look to build on last year's NCAA Tournament berth under Head Coach Brooke Lincoln, who enters her seventh season with Azusa Pacific, carrying a career record of 55-33-16. Lincoln will look to fill the roles of former Cougars and All-Conference honorees Avery Guiel, Jaci Maze, and Hailey Hilton. Maze also earned a spot on both the D2CCA and United Soccer Coaches All-West Region Second Team.
Key returning starters include Sophia Emerson, Aubrey Dunaway, Alexis Fuller, Anjolie Mayeda, Megan Salvesvold, Faith Crouse, and Zoey Kuhn. They will be joined by talented transfers expected to contribute right away including Victoria Castro (Santa Monica College), Jada Preston (CBU), Lauren Grissom (Tarleton State), and Campos.
In the PacWest Preseason Poll, Point Loma claimed the top spot with nine first-place votes after capturing both the 2024 regular season and tournament titles. Concordia was picked second, followed by Hawai'i Hilo in third.
The Cougars will open their 2025 campaign with a non-conference match up on Thursday September 4, when they will travel to Cal Poly Pomona to take on the defending national champions. Kickoff in Pomona is at 7:00 PM.
