"I'm excited about the 2025 schedule," said Head Coach Lincoln. "We feel like our non-conference opponents will give us SOS to push us to get back to the national tournament. Our pacwest slate will be tough with road games at Concordia and Point Loma- two of the consistently top 3 programs with good home field advantages."

"We are coming off a great spring and will carry that momentum into the summer and fall. Our players are hungry to get into the PacWest tournament and have a chip on our shoulder to not just get back to the national tournament but make a run once there. I believe we have all the right pieces with returning players and incoming players to do both of those things and that's exciting. This program has taken a step forward every year since 2018 and I expect 2025 to be more of the same."

"We must treat every game on the schedule as if it's the PacWest final and if we can do that consistently good things are coming for this team," concluded Lincoln. "All the pieces to be great are in place."

Non-Conference Breakdown
The Cougars will compete in seven non-conference matchups prior to PacWest play, leading off with a home exhibition match against Division III opponent Claremont Mudd Scripps on August 23. The two sides have only seen each other once before, where they drew 0-0 back in 2011.

Two weeks later, the team heads to Pomona to face the defending national champions Cal Poly Pomona on September 4. The Cougars have a 7-13 record against the Broncos, with each team grabbing a pair of wins over their last four matchups. Cal Poly has the winning streak, defeating the Cougars 2-0 during their last matchup in 2023.

Azusa Pacific will return home for its remaining five non-conference games, playing four of the five games against CCAA teams. On September 10 the Cougars will face Cal State San Bernardino which took the last matchup over APU 2-1 in 2023. Three days later on the 13th, Cal State Dominguez Hills will travel to Azusa to try and avenge its five game losing streak against the Cougars.

Colorado Mesa is the lone non-conference opponent (besides CMS) that is not in the CCAA, and is slated to play APU on Thursday the 18th. The RMAC member school will make its debut at the Cougar Soccer Complex as the teams play each other for the first time in program history. The Mavericks made it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament last year before falling to #1 seed Colorado School of Mines.

The Cougars end their pre-PacWest play against Cal State LA and UC Merced. The Golden Knights and the Cougars face off on September 20 followed by UC Merced in its inaugural year as an NCAA Division II member – previously an NAIA program – on September 23.

PacWest Breakdown
APU opens PacWest play at home against Dominican on October 2, followed by Fresno Pacific just two days later. The Cougars have only lost once to the Penguins over their 11 matches played and twice to the Sunbirds over 24 matches played.

Azusa Pacific will then travel to Hawai'i to play Chaminade and Hawai'i Pacific, on October 9 and 11, respectively. The Cougars defeated the Silverswords last season 4-0, and its last matchup against the Sharks was back in 2023 when they outscored them 9-1.

The Cougars return home to face Westmont on October 15, and then are back on the road at Concordia (10/18) and at Vanguard (10/22). APU handed Concordia its first loss of the season last year, snapping an 11 game winning streak.
Crosstown rival Biola then heads to the Cougar Soccer Complex on October 25 to try and collect its first win against the Cougars in 14 years. Point Loma is the PacWest team to beat as the defending PacWest Tournament Champions and the 2023 National Champions, and APU will have a go at the Sea Lions in San Diego on the 29th to round out October.

The final two regular-season matchups are home against Menlo and Jessup, on November 6 and 8, respectively. The Cougars defeated both sides last year and have never lost to either.
