INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana – Azusa Pacific continues its successful showing at the 2025 Indoor National Championships with an All-American finish and two athletes qualifying for Saturday's finals.
After seven events over two days of competition,
Lincoln Krog finished the heptathlon with 5,433 points, earning fifth place and an All-American honor.
Entering Day 2 in sixth place with 3,003 points, Krog finished strong, posting top-ten finishes in the 60m hurdles, pole vault, and rounding out his weekend with a third-place finish in the 1000m, setting a career-best time of 2:42.89.
Krog's 5,433 points is just one point shy of his career-best, which he set at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic in February, securing him the opportunity to compete in his first Indoor National Championships. His trophy will now sit alongside his three All-American honors from outdoor decathlon competition.
Also competing on Friday was
Olivia Alexandre, who made her Indoor Nationals debut in the preliminary round of the 800m. The school record holder finished second in her heat with a time of 2:08.56, automatically qualifying for the final. Her season-best time of 2:04.77 was the third-fastest she ran this season, and she will look to close out a strong indoor campaign with an All-American performance tomorrow.
Rounding out Day 2,
Esther Conde-Turpin ran a season-best time of 8.37 in the 60m hurdles to advance to Saturday's final. Finishing third in her heat, she earned a spot in the final with the fifth-fastest overall time. After winning the pentathlon on Day 1, she will complete her trip to Indy by competing in both the 60m hurdles and high jump tomorrow afternoon. Notably, Conde-Turpin broke the indoor 60m hurdles school record at the 2023 NCAA Indoor Championships with a time of 8.27.
Up Next: Eliana Saunders and
Hannah Richardson will look to make their 2025 Nationals debut following strong performances by the Cougars thus far. They'll be joined by Conde-Turpin and
Luisa Fischer, who will compete alongside Saunders in the high jump, following their individual All-American performances in the pentathlon. Alexandre and Conde-Turpin will also run in their respective finals for the 800m and 60m hurdles.
Entering the final day of competition, the Cougars are in sixth place overall with 14 points, all earned in the heptathlon. Pittsburg State leads with 31 points, followed by Minnesota State in second with 23 points. The next seven teams, including Azusa Pacific, are all within a point of one another.
