LOS ANGELES, Calif. – In its first away match in almost a month, Azusa Pacific earned a 4-0 road victory against Cal State Los Angeles on Wednesday.
The Cougars kept it short and sweet by securing the doubles point and the next three singles points in straight sets.
To start the match, Vini Bautista and Julia Jordan earned a 6-0 win at No. 2 Doubles. The duo improved to 14-2 on the season.
Katherine Nguyen and Shannele Lopez won their match 6-3 at No. 3 Doubles, providing the Cougars with their first point of the match.
Next up, Lopez dominated at No. 6 singles with a 6-0, 6-0 win to earn her eighth singles win in a row.
Then, Miruna Trudor earned her ninth consecutive win with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles. Madison Kane capped off the match with a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles to improve her overall record to 16-1.
Up Next: With just two more matches before the inaugural PacWest tournament, the Cougars will head north to Fresno Pacific to face the Sunbirds on Friday at 2 p.m.
