GAME ONE: Azusa Pacific 4, Dominican 0
It was a pitchers duel through the sixth inning as Korstrom and Dominicans starter held both offenses at bay for the majority of the game. The Cougars broke it open in their half of the sixth when Caitlin DeCanio led off the inning with a single, followed by another single from Bella Fraser that put her and pinch runner Hailey Burns at first and second. Aly Montesino then singled to score Burns and advance Fraser to third, giving Azusa Pacific a 1-0 lead.
Sakarah Buckner came on to pinch run for Montesino and she stole second, followed by a single from Aleah Delgado to make it a 2-0 game. Sommer Quinones then singled once again to score Buckner, giving the Cougars a 3-0 lead.
Azusa Pacific was able to score one more run in the seventh when Ally Chin led off with a single and proceeded to steal second. With two outs, Fraser collected her second single of the day to score Chin, taking a 4-0 lead.
That was all Korstrom needed as she collected two more strikeouts followed by a ground out to Mia Alvarez to end it. Korstrom picked up her 13th win of the season and sixth shutout while striking out seven and only walking two.
GAME TWO: Azusa Pacific 7, Dominican 2
Alvarez led off the second game with a bang, hitting her second leadoff home run of the season - giving Azusa Pacific an early 1-0 advantage. Two batters later, Montesino picked up her sixth home run of the season and Fraser immediately followed with the Cougars third solo home run of the inning to give Azusa Pacific a 3-0 lead.
Dominican picked up two runs in the second, but the Cougars fired right back in the top of the third, scoring two off a fielder's choice and a passed ball to take a 5-2 lead. A double down the line from Chin in the seventh extended Azusa Pacific's lead to 7-2, which was the final in game two.
Sahhar went the distance, throwing her third complete game of the season while striking out five.
