GENEVA, OH. - Montana White is now a three time All-American after earning a sixth place finish in the 500 Free on the Cougars third day of competition at the NCAA DII Swimming & Diving Championships. White secured a personal best time and broke the school record she previously set last year at nationals with a time of 4.51.47 to accomplish the feat. With still one more swim to go at the 2023-24 DII Swimming & Diving championships, White has individually scored the most points at an NCAA nationals in Azusa Pacific swimming & diving history.
"Montana has had a personal best time in every event she has swum, set three new school records and is now a 3x All-American. She is the first 3x NCAA All-American in Azusa Pacific history." said head coach Tim Kyle. "Montana truly amazes me every time she competes!" Kyle continued, "So proud of how far she has come with her time at Azusa Pacific and we still have her for another year! One more day to go..."
White took third in the prelims of the event with a time of 4:51.91, coming in just .11 seconds shy of her seed time, advancing her to the finals later today.
White then secured a sixth place finish in the 500 Free finals with a personal best time of 4:51.47, dropping .33 seconds from her prelim time to not only earn her third consecutive All-American honors in as many days, but also secured a personal best time and broke her own school record in this event which she set last season. None of White's splits exceeded 31 seconds as she started the race with a 26.33 split and ended with a 28.82 split.Â
