GENEVA, OH. - Montana White highlighted Azusa Pacific's second day in the lanes at the DII Swimming & Diving Championships, earning a third place finish in the 200 Free, securing All-American honors for the second consecutive day. Her finish was also a personal best and broke the school record that she previously set earlier this season. Amanda Anderson also earned Honorable Mention All-American honors in the 400 IM.Â
"Day two was pretty special!" said head coach Tim Kyle. "Two more personal best times, a new school record in the 200 Free, an Honorable Mention All-American recognition and another All-American recognition!" Kyle continued, "So proud of what we have done to this point! Two days to go..."
To kick off prelims, Anderson finished 12th in the 400 IM, earning a personal best time of 4:24.27, sending her to the event finals taking place later today. Aleena Herrera finished 21st with a time of 4:27.40.Â
In the 200 Free, White earned third place with a record breaking and personal best time of 1:48.12 to also send her to finals.
In the 200 Free finals, White broke the record she set in the prelims with a time of 1:47.49 to finish third in the nation in this event. White's splits were consistent in the race, going 24.83, 26.70, 27.64 and finished the race with a final split of 28.32. This is the second time in as many years that White has secured a top-three finish in an event at the DII Swimming & Diving Championships.Â
In the 400 IM finals, Anderson tied for 15th, touching the wall at 4:24.37 to secure Honorable Mention All-American honors. None of Anderson's splits exceeded 38 seconds as she finished out the race with splits of 31.52 and 30.88.Â
