SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Azusa Pacific won the first 11 races of the day, claiming a 140-101 victory over Westmont in their second dual meet of the season.
Mikaela Maemura and
Montana White each won three individual events during the meet.
How It Happened: The Cougars made clear what kind of day it would be from the opening swim, as they claimed the top two spots in the 200 medley relay.

Montana White and
Sydnee Wilson touched the wall first in a time of 1:53.26, while
Kya Guikema,
Angelica Benitez,
Marcelina Halawczak and
Ashley Cochran came in right behind them at 1:56.97 to take second, giving the Cougars 15 out of a possible 17 points in the opening event.
The Cougars continued winning the race to the finish line in race after race, as Maemura claimed first place in the 200 free (1:59.90), 50 butterfly (26.84), and 50 backstroke (26.86), while White took top honors in the 100 IM (59.92), 50 free (24.81), and 100 butterfly (58.08). Not to be left out, Wilson picked up two event wins of her own, capturing first in the 50 breaststroke (31.98) and 500 free (5:22.10). Yanagawa picked up the win in the 100 backstroke (1:01.22) and Benitez took first in the 100 breaststroke to round out the wins with a time of 1:09.78. Â In five of those 10 individual wins, another Cougar was also the second finisher.
This is the fourth dual meet the Cougars have contested against Westmont over the past five seasons, and Azusa Pacific has won all four.
Up Next: The Cougars will be off for the next month for finals and the Christmas break, and will next hit the pool for their annual Alumni Meet on January 4. Their next scheduled competition comes a week later at the Orange County Invitational hosted by Concordia.
