Santa Barbara, Calif. - The Cougars were handed their first loss of the season as they suffered a 3-2 defeat from Westmont on Thursday afternoon.
How it Happened: Azusa Pacific got on the board first in the 23rd minute after a cross sent in from
Alexis Fuller was hit in by a Warriors defender, resulting in an own goal. The Cougars only had one shot on goal through the first half.
The Warriors leveled the game in the 59th minute, converting off of a blocked clearance. Azusa Pacific responded quickly, as senior transfer
Faith Crouse notched her second goal of the season just six minutes later to re-establish the Cougars lead.Â
Two goals wouldn't be enough to hold off the Warriors as they scored again in the 75th minute to tie the score 2-2 and took the lead with just three minutes remaining. Azusa Pacific goalkeeper
Maddie Williams had a season-high seven saves on the afternoon.
