Daniel Bessolo has been named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Second Team for his performance in the classroom and on the track over this past year. Bessolo earned the recognition after he closed out the year with a cumulative GPA of 3.86 as a graduate student pursuing a degree in Organizational Psychology.

On the track, Bessolo was an indoor All-Region performer in the 400 meters and 4x400 relay, and in the spring, he was a member of the Cougars' 4x400 relay team that earned outdoor All-Region distinction. 

At the PacWest Championships, Bessolo helped lead the Cougars to their seventh-consecutive conference title, scoring points in three events. Bessolo placed fourth in the 400 meters, and he ran the second leg for the Cougars' 4x400 relay team that took third, and the third leg for the 4x100 relay team which finished as the conference runner-up.
