AZUSA, Calif. - Four members of Azusa Pacific track & field earned top regional honors for their performance during the indoor season this past winter.
Nicole Warwick was the West region's Women's Field Athlete of the Year,
Aaron Worrell was the Men's Field Athlete of the Year,
Jack Hoyt was the Women's Coach of the Year, and
Andrea Blackett was the Women's Assistant Coach of the Year. For Hoyt and Blackett, it is the second consecutive season in which the two earned top honors for the indoor season.
Warwick earned the region's top honor after she was the National Champion in the pentathlon, and she was an All-American in the long jump at Nationals. In the pentathlon, Warwick scored the seventh-most points in NCAA Division II history, as she finished with 4,066 points over the five events. Worrell landed the region's top field honor after he was the national runner-up in the heptathlon. Over the two days of competition at Nationals, Worrell amassed a career-best 5,604 points, which ranks him in the top-10 all-time for NCAA Division II.
