Tido Robles and Spencer Rasmussen were distinguished as Preseason All-American Honorable Mention players by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers' Association, which announced its preseason All-American teams this week.
Robles, a senior third baseman for the Cougars, earned national recognition heading into the 2023 season after he was named a Second Team All-Region performer by both the D2CCA and ABCA last season. He was also a Second Team All-PacWest performer. Robles started all 57 games for the Cougars this season, batting for a .311 average and recording 70 hits, 63 RBi and 18 home runs. He had 21 games in which he had multiple hits, and 18 games of two or more RBI.
Rasmussen was recognized as a designated hitter, as the junior is coming off of a 2022 campaign in which he was a Second Team All-Region honoree by both the D2CCA and ABCA, and he garnered Second Team All-PacWest recognition. Rasmussen posted a .300 average, including a slugging percentage of .632 and an on-base of .457. He finished the season with 57 hits, 16 home runs, and 49 RBI.
