The NCAA Division II Softball Championship field was announced on Monday morning, and Azusa Pacific was selected as the No. 7 seed in the West region. The Cougars will play in the double-elimination West Region #2 bracket, which will be hosted by their first round opponent, No. 2 seed Concordia. Game time between the two teams is set for 2:30 pm on Thursday, May, 12.

Azusa Pacific is making its second NCAA postseason appearance, as the Cougars last trip to Regionals was in 2016. This season, the Cougars posted a regular season record of 35-15, with a 25-7 conference mark. The Cougars' 25 PacWest wins matches the program's most conference wins in a single season during the NCAA era. 

Concordia will enter Thursday's contest with a 43-8 overall record, and the Eagles are ranked No. 11 in the NFCA Coaches' Poll after winning the PacWest Championship. The Cougars and Eagles met in the finale of the regular season, and Azusa Pacific claimed a 3-0 win.
