West Region #2 Tournament Central

Azusa Pacific is set to host the West Region #2 bracket on Thursday, May 19 through Saturday, May 21.

WEST REGION #2 TOURNAMENT CENTRAL

The NCAA Division II Baseball Championship field was announced on Sunday evening, and No. 23 ranked Azusa Pacific was selected as the No. 2 seed in the West region. The Cougars will host three teams in the double-elimination West Region #2 bracket, which will begin Thursday, May 19. The other two teams in the region are No. 3 seed Cal State Monterey Bay and No. 6 seed Western Oregon.

Azusa Pacific is making its fifth straight NCAA postseason appearance, as the Cougars last trip to Regionals was when they were the No. 1 seed last season. This season, the Cougars posted a regular season record of 34-16, with a 23-9 conference mark which was just behind the conference winner Point Loma who is the No. 1 seed in the West Region #1 bracket.

Cal State Monterey Bay will enter Thursday's contest with a 35-16 overall record, and the Otters are ranked No. 12 in the latest NCBWA Poll after winning the regular season CCAA Championship. The Cougars and Otters met in early in the season as Azusa Pacific won three out of the four games in the series. Western Oregon enters the regional with a 34-18 record and a 21-11 in GNAC play after securing the automatic qualifying bid to the West Regional in the GNAC tournament.
